Double Degree Programs
Our Double Degree agreements allow WPIR students to complete their second year at a prestigious international partner university. By taking exams and spending one year abroad, outgoing students graduate with two official titles: the Master's degree in World Politics and International Relations from Pavia and the equivalent degree from the partner university.

The University of Pavia and Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg offer a double degree program conferring the Master's Degree in WPIR and the Master of Arts in Political Science.
Overview:
- Available Places: 5 students per academic year.
- Start Date: Academic Year 2027-2028.
- Language: English.
- Specializations: Students can choose between Democratic Politics or Data & Politics tracks.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Completion of at least 30 ECTS credits by the end of the 1st year.
- Proficiency in English.

The University of Pavia and the University of Vaasa (Finland) have established an agreement that will allow students of both institutions to spend part of their studies at the partner university and obtain a double degree (Laurea Magistralis in World Politics and International Relations in Italy; Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Management in Finland).
Eligibility requirements:
- Successful completion of at least 20 credits during the first year of the master's degree program
- English language proficiency at C1 level (courses at the University of Vaasa are taught in English)
Students will follow a two-year study plan which includes a mobility period at the partner university during the second year. Up to three students per university will be able to participate each year.
Students must submit a research thesis in English, with a supervisor from their home university and a co-supervisor from the host university. The thesis will be discussed at the home university with the co-supervisor joining remotely.

The University of Pavia and the Universidad de Belgrano, Buenos Aires, have established an agreement whereby students of either university can spend a year at the partner institution with a view to obtaining a double degree (Laurea Magistralis in World Politics and International Relations in Italy; Licenciatura en Relaciones Internacionales in Argentina).
Eligibility requirements for the double degree program:
- Good working knowledge of Spanish (most of the teaching in Buenos Aires is in Spanish).
Pavia students initially enrolled in World Politics and International Relations who follow this special program will spend their first semester in Pavia, their second and third semesters in Buenos Aires (corresponding to the Argentinian academic year), and their fourth semester in Pavia, concentrating primarily on their thesis.
As part of the graduation procedure, the presence of a supervisor from the University of Pavia (UNIPV) and a professor from the University of Belgrano is required. The professor from the University of Belgrano will be officially designated as the second supervisor during the graduation session.

If you are interested in enrolling in this double degree program you need to indicate it at the appropriate place on the application form when applying to join the Pavia program in World Politics and International Relations. The University can accept up to four students a year for this double-degree program.
